City Council’s Committee on the Environment Passes Plastic Bag Fee

On Friday, May 1, Philadelphia City Council’s Committee on the Environment passed Councilman Frank DiCicco’s proposed legislation to place a $.25 “green fee” on plastic bags at all retail establishments in Philadelphia! The bill will be presented to City Council for a vote in the upcoming weeks.

Philly Spring Clean Up

This Saturday, April 4, is the 2nd Annual Philly Spring Clean Up. Make sure to snap pics of all those plastic bags and styrofoam cups and containers you clean from the Philly streets!

Clean Air Council will be distributing 300 recycling bins to homes in South Philadelphia. If you’d like a bin visit us at The Houston Center’s Community Garden, 8th and Snyder.
